Technical Details

The organizer generally does not provide any equipment or stages.
Only a few performance locations provide power supply.

Official permissions are obtained by the organizer. Sound may be directed only at the immediate audience. The City of Linz is not liable for damage to property or personal injury resulting from activities of street artists during the Pflasterspektakel.

Festival times

Persumably Thursday from 4 - 11 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 2 - 11 p.m.

Performance locations

Performance locations spread throughout the pedestrian zone, courtyards, squares and park areas in the city centre. In case of very bad weather, there are alternative indoor locations.

Performance mode details

Artists and groups can determine their performance locations and times in the morning of each day of the festival at the "location and time selection meeting".

FREE location selection

Number of performances: Thursday: 2 performances / day, Friday & Saturday: 3 performances / day, for one hour each (including set up and take down) at different locations. Performances start every hour on the hour.

RESTRICTED location selection

Especially "loud" music formations (samba, percussion, drums, brass music) and "quiet" ensembles (a capella, instrumental), fire shows, aerial performances, walk acts and artists with special technical requirements perform at certain times and in selected locations in agreement with the organization team.

Additional performances

Additional performances can be done in the context of specials programs like the "Kaleidoscope Afternoon and Night at the Circus Tent", the "Nightline" or the "Lottery for special performance locations".

Kaleidoscope Afternoon at the Circus Tent

Selected artists present samples of their performances within one 60minutes revue show in addition to their street perfomance slots. Artists rotate daily so every day a new show is happening.

Kaleidoscope Night at the Circus Tent

Here you get the best insight into the variety of street performing! Selected artists present samples of their performances within two 90minutes revue shows. One street performance slot is substituted by these two shows. Artists rotate daily so every day a new show is happening.

Accommodation *

Artists are accommodated at city centre hotels (double/ two-bed or three-bed rooms). The accommodation including breakfast is provided by the organizers.

Arrival/Departure Arrival

Check-In: Wednesday, 19 July 2023, 12 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Welcome Drink at 8 p.m.)


Check-Out dressing room: Sunday, 23 July 2023, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Contribution to travel expenses

Artists receive a contribution (subsidy) to expenses for direct outward and return journey to Linz. Proof of travel (bills, tickets), dating back not longer than 16 July 2023, must be provided for payment.Travel expenses are reimbursed proportionally to the days of participation (one day = 1/3, two days = 2/3, three days = full contribution).

Train / plane / public bus

Economy and 2nd class tickets are reimbursed. We kindly ask for early and low fare booking in order to keep travel costs to a minimum. Ticktes issued before 16 July 2023 will not be accepted for reimbursement.

Private car / bus

We offer a staggered mileage allowance: 1 person: 0,2 €/km; 2 persons: 0,25 €/km; 3-5 persons: 0,3€ /km and from 6 persons 0,4 €/km. Fuel receipts from the whole route, dating back not longer than 16 July 2023, must be provided for payment.

Irrespective of the travel distance, number of persons and actual ticket costs, the travel cost contribution is limited to a maximum of 1.000€ per artist / group.

In case members of the group depart from different places, please contact the festival management at pflasterspektakel@linz.at.

Daily allowance

The organizer allocates 25€ per person and festival day for food for a maximum of 10 persons.

Artists keep performance revenues (busking money).

Other conditions

For companions who do not essentially contribute to the performance, neither daily allowance nor accommodation or travel cost reimbursement can be covered.

The invitation or rejection will be sent until 1 March 2023.

50% of the artists will be invited for the first time.
