Festival times

Thursday, 23 July 2020 from 4pm to 11pm, Friday, 24 July 2020 and Saturday, 25 July 2020 from 2pm to 11pm

Performance locations

There are about 40 performance locations at 5 performance zones in the city centre of Linz. In case of very bad weather, there are alternative indoor locations.

Performance mode details

Artists and groups can determine their performance locations and times in the morning of each day of the festival at the "location and time selection meeting".

FREE location selection

Number of performances: Thursday twice a day, Friday and Saturday three performances a day for one hour each (including time to build up and take down the performance) at different locations. Performances start every hour on the hour.

RESTRICTED location selection

Especially "loud" music formations (samba, percussion, drums, brass music) and "quiet" ensembles (a capella, instrumental), participants of the children's program, fire shows or shows with pyrotechnics perform at certain times and in selected locations in agreement with the organization team.

Artists/groups with performances requiring lengthy assembly and removal time and high technical effort (for instance tightrope artistry) can register for a fixed performance location. Please send technical riders by E-Mail to pflasterspektakel@linz.at.

Additional performances Kaleidoscope Nights in the circus tent

Every evening different artists can present segments of their shows at two moderated ninety minutes-revue shows each in the circus tent. The popular Kaleidoscope Nights delight an audience of more than 300 people per performance. Artists participating at the Kaleidoscope Night present two (short) performances at two revue shows of ninety minutes on one evening. The two performances at the Kaleidoscope Night substitute one street performance.

Kaleidoscope Afternoons in the inner courtyard

In the afternoon artists can present segments of their performances at moderated sixty minutes- revue shows in an inner courtyard. This performance can be done in addition to the street performances.

In addition to planned performances, performances of one hour can be presented on Saturday from 10:00 - 14:00 at selected spots in the city centre.

There is a Nightline on Thursday and Friday from 23:00 in bars in the city centre, where musicians and bands can perform.

Accommodation *

Artists are accommodated at city centre hotels (double/ two-bed or three-bed rooms). The costs of accommodation including breakfast are provided by the organizers.

Contribution to travel expenses

Artists receive a contribution to expenses for a direct round-trip to Linz. Proof of travel (bills, tickets) must be provided which must be dated from 19 July 2020. Travel expenses are reimbursed proportionally to the number of days at the festival (one day = 1/3, two days = 2/3, three days = full reimbursement).

Train / plane / public bus

Economy and 2nd class tickets are reimbursed. For air travel, please book on time and choose a cheap ticket. There is no contribution for tickets issued for a journey before 19 July 2020.

Private car / bus

We offer a staggered mileage allowance: 1 person: 0,2 €/km; 2 persons: 0,25 €/km; 3-5 persons: 0,3€ /km and from 6 persons 0,4 €/km. Gas station bills of the entire route must be provided to receive allowance. There is no contribution for bills issued before 19 July 2020.

Irrespective of the travel distance, number of persons and ticket costs, contribution does not exceed 1000 Euros per artist or group.

Daily allowance

Each artist and member of a group (maximum 10 persons) receives 25 Euros per festival day for meals.

Money donated to the performers (busking money) remains their exclusive property.

Other conditions

Accompanying persons who are not part of the performance neither receive a financial daily contribution for meals nor for accommodation or travels.

Until 1 March 2020, confirmation or rejection is sent.

Half of the artists are invited to the Pflasterspektakel for the first time.
